Grey

Grey

A Poem by Tannit

its true, they say
its never black and white
and sometimes
i fall in love with all the shades of grey
and the colors
caused by the light of day

the memories move
like wind blows through your hair
and bleeds out through your fingertips
to paint the sky each morning
with the colors
of your life

its true, i see
there's music in your eyes
and the notes they flow and overlap
like the footprints left on a crowded street
when the sun goes down
as the earth turns round
your body's the vessel that takes you through time

and you breathe the words
that grow in the silence
and let them spin round in circles like dancers
to paint the ground in that soft sweet sound
with the colors
of emotion

its true, i know
we don't last forever
but sometimes
i fall in love with humanity's fire
and the colors we trace
in the shades of grey

I'm adding this to my favorites!
You did a wonderful job at causing the reader's imagination to feast upon each line.
I have too many favorite parts to list so i'll pick one...
"like the wind blows through your hair and bleeds out through your fingertips to paint the sky each morning with the colors of your life".
This is simply Avant-garde.
I really enjoyed reading this!

I don't know how to be anything else but what I am and though I know on an abstract level exactly who I am, I will always be unable to describe myself satisfactorily. But I can try to sum up: -I .. more..
