A Poem by Tannit

thrown into an icy sea
the red hot coals in front of me
heart beats faster. breathing slow
the paranoia starts to grow

a bug that crawls beneath my skin
pull my hair out
bite my tongue

caught in a net
tangles of ribbons
wrap round the fingers
that reach for salvation

the poison that festers
and leaks like ink
my body melts
with burning shivers
a hard knot tightens
in my core

the sounds of disaster
echo off the walls
of the room that grows smaller
as i shrink even more

blankets that smother
handcuffs to hold me
the shadows that curl round my throat
try to strangle

running through hallways
trapped in a corner
falling and crawling
afraid of my fear

Tannit
suggestions on changing some of the words would be helpful. the rythym is a little screwy in places.

love to help ya but i'm terrible with poetry but to read it and enjoy... i'm a storyteller myself.

i again enjoyed this piece, you have a way of telling a short short story within your poems that is engaging and grabs the reader's attention!

well done in my eyes! :D

About
I don't know how to be anything else but what I am and though I know on an abstract level exactly who I am, I will always be unable to describe myself satisfactorily. But I can try to sum up: -I .. more..
