Engrossed in the act!

Many of us believe the world is not for real and we are just a part of this little drama. Still, we are not humbled and act selfishly to win the race of life.

This world is a stage

We all are actors, who play

Characters for life.

The World not for real,

The debate of billions

Not for a moment we quit

Character and its duty

Protagonist here forgets the fact

Once and for all when life is stalled

Nothing will be meant, whatever he hoards.

Still, we fear the death,

Egotist we are,

Invention of crimes,

Killing of the rhymes

Compassion difficult to cultivate

For, we believe all is real

Senses satisfied, ambitions personified

Engrossed in the dark

Heading towards apocalypse

If only for once, we dive within

Facts will unfold

Realization will follow

Then, at last, we will be caught red-handed,

Engrossed in the act!

Author's Note

On the spiritual note of soul, body, and this world labeled as 'Maya' ! An attempt to look through the opaque glass towards reality!

the characters knew they were in a play...the theater of the absurd...and in our lives we all know we are in a play...
