Salute the Sun!

Facts and metaphorical description of Sun.

Working hard through the sky each day

bringing about life and growth to various species on earth,

One million Earth can be sheltered within,

Having reached half way of its life.

Rotating in opposite direction of the Earth,

It glorifies itself in the galaxy with a speed of two hundred and twenty.

Feared and worshiped by people throughout the history as God,

Sun God is known as Ra, Surya, Helios and many such names.

Astrologers swear by Sun and forecast,

Astronomers have sweat their ages to explore.

Ruling the Solar system with pride,

mass comes from elements - helium and hydrogen.

Movement so disciplined, appearance so majestic,

Paternal love flows towards Earth and beings.

Every billion years that pass, it's luminous by 10 percent than the past,

With such intensity of heat, it is bound to kill the Earth.

What happens we may not live to see,

The soul will leave the body and flee.

Planet or God cannot be ignored.

Salute to the Sun for the gift of life!
