Sonnet II: If You Should Ever Look For Love Again

Sonnet II: If You Should Ever Look For Love Again

A Poem by Tanja Bulovic

If you should ever look for love again
In old Verona, city full of grace
Look for a statue speaking of a pain
That mortals wouldn't ever freely face
In all their wisdom gathered over time
That taught them nothing, maybe even less
Oh, how they suffer in that endless line
Waiting their turn to summon happiness
For you and me and all the other fools
Ashamed of touching young Juliet's breast
Finding true love while using reason's rules
Shall prove to be an impossible quest

If you can prove these musings to be wrong
I'll neither speak nor write another song
