A Poem by tanisha

The world didn't spin

She didn't fall

Like a subtle violin

She heard Death’s call.

And her eyes

Mascara and liner

She said her goodbyes

Nobody would stop her.

Except her tears -

Thick and pure

Transparent and clear

Made her unsure.

They moved slow-

Cautious and careful

The darkness stopped the flow

Black entered the tears like water and wool.

She stopped. and knew

The tears were like her

Black became her only hue

When the world became a blur.

The eyes were like the world

Pushing her out because;

She was a useless girl -

She hated being forced.

She didn't want fate to control her

Or her mascara tears.

And though her world was at a curb;

She wouldn't give the world what was hers.

She cried mascara tears;

Let go of her emotions;

And forgot all her fears.

And in silence she dropped the pin.

And when her eyes were dry;

She wiped the eye liner;

She didn't cry;

And looked in the mirror.

She put on eyeliner

Mascara and eyeshadow

She wore her coat of fur

Combat boots, ready to go.

Ready to fight

Ready for the worst

Ready for plight

Ready to curse

Ready to find light

Ready to reimburse

With mascara eyes

Ready to face the universe
