Remember, SeptemberA Poem by tangible.elleWritten for the family of Cindy Yvette Arevalo Drinnon Quiette who passed away by the vice of violence in September 2011.September, a time for leaves, A time for reprieves. Life lost, and realized slowly, Beneath the watchful eyes of shifting leafs.
Vibrancy fades beneath the cackle of the exiles, Of trees no long able to bear their weight. Bare branches, offer no silent comfort, To the weepers gathered beneath.
Tears fall and fall to fill ocean brims, And overflow in sorrow uncontainable. Torrents give way to the drought of despair, Still, a resilient ocean remains, beckoning.
Come home to me, dear child, Swim to me through the triumphant sea. Wave breaks of oceans bear resemblance, To the breaking on the sands of lake shores.
And amidst the water, tainted more green than blue, In the promise of eternity peace can be restored. © 2011 tangible.elleAuthor's Note
