The Search

The Search

A Poem by Ocean Orchid

In this crimson twilight …

I searched for you

And get to know that there is … no vacancy…

I searched for them…

And find them busy spinning the humdrum life mills…

I searched for the night stars …

And find… they have meetings with the clouds …

I searched for peace ….

And find peace is breaking down in pieces ….

In the hey fields…

In the busy streets, factories, condos …

           In mass dialogues, loving tête-à-têtes

In the vital astute roundtables …..

In this crimson twilight …

I searched for … the dazzling green playfields ….

      I find the playfields

              Full with grimy leftovers …

                   On yellowish ragged grass

I searched for an amorous oasis

And find them dried up …

                     With spiky grown

                           Cactus of vengeance …..

In this crimson twilight …

                I searched for you

                         I searched for me ……

                              I searched for us …….

                                     I searched for Peace …..

This is fabulous. The search -- the endless search -- for meaning, purpose, love, perhaps ... one love... peace. Seeking the dream but finding reality .. "In crimson twilight". Brilliant. I agree that there are many avenues which one could travel within this piece.

This is my favorite stanza.
Stars having meetings with the clouds.. wow. Love it..

Well done!

Oh bravo poet! This was exquisite poetry indeed!

Each line was a "gem" and what a dazzling poem was fashioned from your talented pen.

'The Search' works so well for the title of this piece, for it seems that you have encompassed most of what people look for in their lives. From the beginning, 'I searched for you', which, to me, implies the search for love and companionship, which is most often the first relevnt search of our lives. The ending verse does well to sum it all up:

'In this crimson twilight
I searched for you
I searched for me
I searched for us .
I searched for Peace .. '

An exploration of one's self and one's beliefs as they search for the things in life that are most important to them; the search for companionship, the search for purpose and undestanding, the search for love, and the search for peace. And I must also state that the use of the world crimosn in the line 'In this crimson twilight' helps to define the realities found during the search. Though not so much a harsh colour, it does paint a very realistic back drop to this piece. Bravi, this was very will written.

A great capture of the essence of longing for so many things it could be - from another, from ourselves, from life en general. Thank you for sharing. Well penned.

This piece is wonderful. I love the way you've described searching. The "crimson twilight" phrase caused me to pause when I crossed it the second time. There are so many corners on this, I'm not sure which direction to go. But my take on it was that the search is for love. And when love is not found, peace. Great job Ocean!

A beautifully crafted piece of writing. Your use of language is wonderful and well-thought-out. Even though you point out the difficulties of just living, you have managed to do so with grace and an understanding of love's mission.
Nice work :-)

I love this warmth mixed with sadness
The ever search for peace, for each other among so many things that we see that are not all good,
or beautiful.
I wonder do we spend most of our lives searching for that peace, that inner understanding, someone
to share it with...............beautifully written.
