For My Daughter...

"Daughter Divine"

You are my unseen dream,
my heart born from my flesh.
In you I see the promise of  life,
a life destined to be different
than mine.

I see all you've yet to discover,
and watch you learn from me;
if I let you down,
I hope you'll forgive me.
My purpose is to guide you,
watch you grow,and succeed.

I watch you play with such
an innocence, such bliss.
The joy is mesmerizing when
you make a new discovery.
The dirt you dig through,
The bugs you find,
The challenges you conquer,
The bike you ride,
The doll you dress,
The excitement of
a new accomplishment,
this is your time to shine.

You are my child, my heart
represented in the flesh.
In you I am so very proud.
You nuture and love
so sweetly, so freely,
you know not your limits,
for you there are none,
they are only pretend.

I shelter and shield your eyes,
and fight for your innocence.
The world is yours,
to dance in your hands.
I have no doubt, your life
will be grand.

Your works will transform things.
Your voice will command.
You will never be a victim
to any circumstance.

Make your plans my dear daughter,
let God be your very best friend,
be true to yourself,
and know when to stand;
ever watchful for moments
to offer a hand.

Know that you're beautiful,
your life never unplanned;
you were always a part of
his perfect plan.

I am merely you mother,
a girl who'd always planned.
One day, God graciously
taught me he'd always
been in command,the day
I held your tiny hand.

My love for you reaches
far beyond this earthly land.
You are my promise of life,
a divine promise of hope,
that someday you'll understand.

I love you my blessed daughter, Mommy.
