My Treasure

My Treasure

A Poem by Tamme

Like the ghosts of the graveyard,

We are just drifting spirits

Put here for unknown reasons

Set in place to serve others.

But, I think, if we smile a little more

And cry a little less

This time might be worth more

Than a lousy paycheck

Lessons learned and experiences shared

Carries more worth than any amount of gold

Think of laughter as diamonds

Imagine friends as rubies

Picture your dreams and wishes

As sapphires and emeralds

Because only then

Is one truly rich
