Snowy MiseryA Poem by TammeThe glistening snow The crystal covered trees A lovely show Who wouldn't this please? Me! That's who! My car slides wacky ways, "Stay on the street, you!" But into the ditch it strays! I start out stumblin' home In this slushy yucky mess. The road shines like chrome Why the hell did I wear a dress?! Arms full of bags, Muscles tired and weak My moral drags And my shoes start to leak My nose is running The boogers form icicles My bag breaks open S**t! I broke the jar of pickles
Off somewhere I hear The sounds of kids playing A reason for cheer, I used to love sleighing
Happy thoughts are lost Replaced by fear and distress As snowballs are tossed Ducking for cover is useless
"I know that's you Tom! Along with the rest of the clan! I'm calling your mom! That goes double for Mike and Stan!"
I round my corner My sweet home in sight Can't wait to get warmer And settle in for the night.
I search my purse The key ring with a star This never-ending curse! My keys are in the car! © 2008 TammeFeatured Review
