Gothic Novel

Gothic Novel

A Poem by TalkerStalker

I want to live in a gothic novel.

I want to ride a nightmare-black steed.

I want to watch all my victims grovel.

I want to drink all the life that I need.

I want to bask in night everlasting.

I want to live in perpetual gloom.

I want to feel all the evil pervading.

I want to laugh in the face of my doom.

I want a castle with spires and towers

And hideous gargoyles perched on the eaves.

I want a servant who cringes and cowers,

Whose life is a cycle of villainous deeds.

I want a girl in a flowing white dress,

With a pale white breast and a long black tress,

Who looks just divine, and spends all her time

Brimming with passion and losing her mind.

I want the lust of a healthy young woman.

I want the blood of a healthy young man.

I want to see through the eyes of a demon.

I want to do all the evil I can.

I want to dig up old, rotting corpses,

Cut them in pieces, and stitch them back up,

And bring them to life through unnatural forces,

Recycling bodies till I've had enough.

I want to live in a gothic novel.

I want to build all the life that I need.

I want to pay for the crimes of a scoundrel.

I want self-sacrifice. I want to bleed.
