Dawn of the Metal Knight

Dawn of the Metal Knight

A Poem by K.L.
"

A short poem telling of a gigantic armored Lotso Knight's rise and defeat.

"
It was dawn, when The Metal Knight first appeared
It was massive, fully covered in steel armor
It stomped through villages, leaving all of them cleared
With a massive sword, and a massive shield

It slayed the knights that tried to fight
And the villagers that tried to flee
But it could not be stopped, whether in day or at night
It brought us down, down nearly to our knees

But then, the greatest, and bravest, of our knights
Barnal and his son Tarmin, with a dozen men
To where the thing was headed, to crush it with their might
And end its terror, finally, with a last fight

But the Metal Knight still slayed many of those whom it met
Tarmin leapt to find a weakness
And drove his sword between its visor and helmet
Though his sword broke, the visor came loose

They tore it off, revealing the thing's face
But shockingly, it looked not like a beast
It looked like a Lotso, but it was known that was not the case
Even so, it was frightening to see what it was

Barnal aimed for its neck and took off its head
But somehow, it still lived
The body then continued with its tread
And, with its shield, pushed off many of the knights

Tarmin, though wounded, tore a tree from the ground
And smashed the thing's legs, causing it to stumble and fall
It was surrounded, its fate was coming around
As the knights opened up its armor

Another knight was crushed by the thing’s shield
But Barnal tore off its arm
The body got up, but the knights did not yield
And with a swift stroke sliced off the other

It was nothing but an armored torso and legs
The knights jumped for them, while it was weak
And the head, while it watched, did not even beg
As the rest of its body fell apart

The Metal Knight's limbs twitched, then lay still.
Its head growled, but it had, finally, been defeated.
The remains were dragged to a village, where many were killed
And many villagers wanted it to be finished

Surprisingly, Tarmin disagreed
And said that it should be imprisoned
An execution, he said, there was no need
Hopefully, soon, it would learn its lesson

The thing's remains should be spread far away
Entombed in stone and sealed with chains
In places where they will stay
Buried deep below the ground.

This would be its punishment, its prison, for eternity
They didn’t even know if it could possibly be killed
But Tarmin had hopes that, one day
It will eventually learn its lesson

Though some were unsure, many agreed
They did not want its blood on their hands
Once they had done the deed
And so that was what we did

We took off its armor, and the head still glared
As we placed its remains into their stone prisons
Each was buried in different places, and nobody dared
To even give it hope for escape.

And that is where it shall lay for all of eternity.
