Sunset

As its majestic light dims,
As its beauty disappears,
All the world will join as one to bid farewell.
As its colors fold together,
While the people' tears are dripping,
It descends on its journey along with its beauty.

The people are frightened.
Their sorrows are ripened.
Their feelings are tightened.
They feel despair after this beauty descended.

They are torn apart with fright,
Yet they are filled with hope when they see a sight
At the first signs of morning light.
They see this beauty ascend with wisdom.
They are delighted and excited,
For they have hope again.

interesting ... when i watch the sun setting i begin to rejoice in the stars ascending .. your poem takes a very different path ..makes me think of primitive tribes who fear the dark (some for very good reason) i think the flow of this one is easy but the rhyming for me seems just a bit trite .. a danger we all face when attempting it .. i am an optimist so your closing on a positive note inspires me :)

Thank you very much. The line is a type of personification that I gave the sun. The sun has been around forever and has seen many things, therefore it is wise.
