Death

Death

A Poem by Takoda Sorvillo

Death is something we all fear
Except when death is very near
Death lives in all our lives
Like the dead meaningless lies
If people die every day
Then why are we so afraid
Us humans fear the unknown
We cast change away like an old crone
Death is a change of spirit mind and body
Just accept and embrace the change.
and live to die

Favorite line: like the dead meaningless lies

Rule: Don't rhyme the first two lines if you aren't doing a rhyming scheme.

Confusion: "Except when death is very near." I disagree. Lots of people walk around not thinking about death, but when it is near (mugger, diagnosis, cliff) we are terrified. Food for thought.
