My Only Lover

My Only Lover

A Poem by Tae Notton

With death sat next to me,
we make a lovely couple.
And with death sat next to me.
I repeat,
we make a lovely couple.

He cups my face.
I receive a black kiss.
It’s been f*****g years now.
And he’s never left me.
Death is my only lover.

With death sat next to me,
we make a lovely couple.
And with death sat next to me.
I repeat,
we make a lovely couple.

He holds my hand.
I receive a dark touch.
Time has lost all f*****g meaning.
Because he’s never left me
He is my only lover.

With death sat next to me,
we make a lovely couple.
And with death sat next to me.
I repeat,
we make a lovely couple.
