Lost Love

Lost Love

not even sure if this really is a poem... Oh well haha

Nobody knew how badly he hurt her.
Going through the motions of living, yet life was a cemetary. Every memory that haunted her left a fresh wound, to her already aching heart. He never realized the damage he had done to her. Never saw the signs of neglect decorating her body. Never cared enough to call, when even hope had faded into a distant memory of the past. No, she cared on. A perfect mask to her emotions that were lurking just under the surface, awaiting a role she would soon have to fill.
Pill after pill, tear after tear, she walked into Deaths welcoming arms. At her funeral, a martyr of love, she presumed he wouldn't burden himself with the trouble of show up. Little did she know, that she herself had failed to see the hidden signs also covering him.
He greeted her in a place of no darkness, with a timid warm smile. He softly gazed into her eyes, and she into his, both begging for forgiveness but acknowledging that neither needed it. They knew they had forever to make up for it. Who could know that even in death, they woukd refuse to part?
