Pen and Paper

I put my pen to paper

while I ponder the point to life

and try to understand the universe

 

I string words with words

trying to convey the impossible.

 

I want the reader to gasp and cry out.

For them to fall to their knees,

as my creation overwhelms their senses.

 

The labor is hard

the labor is long

The hours we spend,

in solidude,

is a loabor of love.

That we would gladly give over and over again.

 

Each stroke of the keyboard

another note added

to our life's song.

 

Its not for the money

Its not for the fame.

No one will remember my name.

I write because I must

Because if I dont

I might just bust

With all the emotions and thoughts

that can only be expressed

 

When I put my pen to paper.

I love this poem! Like I relate *though I know i'm gonna end up famous* so much! Poetry is so hard, and so is grasping the universe. The eternal wonders, and endles ponders. I love the long hours with nothing but me, music, and my art. It's truly beautiful. Once again I love this poem!

So truee! This is definitely something most writers can relate to. Sometimes when I have so much inside my head, I just HAVE to blurt it out or i'd explode, and writing actually gives me this huge relief, like the calm in your head after a war. And that's just the way to express. I love how you are so candid with this write, many times we ponder and ponder and find nothing, but we may get some words when we least expect it. Haha, thats how it is! Keep writing :)
