Beautiful Mathematics

Beautiful Mathematics

A Poem by Taal Vastal
"

Could one model love with an equation?

"

Sitting by you, a hand on your shin

Your skin held together

By an electron’s spin

We dance slowly, the room wheeling

You smile sadly

Only a little dopamine

Behind your eyes

Your mouth is soft, especially on mine

The cells lacking rigidity

Deforming into gentle line

We dance slowly, the room wheeling

Your sigh so perfect

As it dissolves

Into empty entropy

We orbit one another, and I inhale

We are such beautiful mathematics

Standing with you, fingers interlaced

Separated only, barely

By a quantum’s space

We dance faster, now, in a room

So full of memory

Atomic dancers mirror us

Through the air

Your breath is warm, your eyes searching

Flickering past me

I miss a step, lurching

We dance faster, now, in a room

Empty but for us

The dust in the air flying

Motes of gold

We orbit one another, and I exhale

We are such beautiful mathematics

About
I live and breathe high fantasy, but I love all forms of fantasy, sci-fi, adventure; hell, I love just about all fiction. I also ADORE semi-colons, and use them way to much. more..
