Take me back

Down memory lane,

To where it all began

And lives got changed.

Take me back

To a simpler time,

Of laughs and smiles,

And ease of mind.

Take me back

To safe boundaries,

To carefree thoughts,

And lack of apologies.

Take me back 

To shallow seas,

Longer days,

And old expected ways.

Take me back

And make me whole,

With lighter weights,

And a crafted soul.

So take me back

And make me blind,

'Cause if I find

What I'd be missing,

My empty heart

Would not survive.

Instead of amendments,

(Which I would decline)

Offer me patience

And willingness to thrive.

Reassure me 

That all is fine.

Keep me safe,

Make me smile.

Most of all,

Train me to float,

In stormy waves,

Or hefty wind

Of uncertain anecdote.

For cloudy days,

Be a raincoat.

Make me stronger,

Make me fearless.

For I refuse going back

To falsely savvy times,

To selfish living,

And meaningless strides.
