I Had the Words

I Had the Words

A Poem by Hanakuso
"

I love words so much. They should be respected. I might be a lexophile with my obsession with them. Truth is, I'm not very well-versed with words myself, but I am fascinated with them.

"

If only I had the words,

I’d start from the beginning

The very best place to start.

If only I had the words,

I’d teach you the language of my tongue

Where hope left us lonely.

If only I had the words,

I’d sing you my love song

Just for you, I’d sing all.

If only I had the words,

The stars would flicker and die

Because you outshone them all.

If only I had the words,

Maybe you’d see me inside

Not this façade of who I am.

If only I had the words,

This poem would have no meaning

But the thought would remain.

If only I had the words

I’d never let them go

Just say them outright.

To you, my dear.

If only,

Just if only,

I had the words.

If I had the words, I would tell you how impressive this work is. It is highly original in its concept and the thought patterns make the pattern of the writing less important. I truly liked this and thank you for it.

A amazing poem. I like the desire of the words. Would be a better world if we try to understand each other. The repetition gave strength to the excellent poem.

OH. Gosh, thank you! Coming from you, what a huge compliment!
If only I had the words,
I’d teach you the language of my tongue
Where hope left us lonely.

My favorite stanza. Captivating and refreshing.

-oh, believe me Jaja! You have every word in this piece to, um,. (im out of words here) build a two sided relationship.
