Pierced

Pierced

A Poem by Ruth Carter
"

When I was mourning friendships broken by discord.

"

Words

pounding

swirling

spewing

raging

Unrelenting

crushing

crashing

bashing

blasting

wave upon wave

Dragging pebbles

tumbled

jumbled

crumbled

Swallowed

Engulfed

Heart breaks

Soul aches

Child shakes

empty

alone

splintered

spent

crying

reaching

yearning

for

God
