The Path Not Taken

I wander the path not taken.

Listening to steps that echo hollowly

through the barren channels of my mind -

a wasteland of futility on a journey of self-destruction.

Upon a path not taken.

How come I now, upon this cluttered path,

littered with wants and desires -

unfulfilled?

Where once was hope and joy,

only sadness trills

echoing down the path not taken.

How come I here,

in this lonely place -

where unrealized dreams echo screamingly?

Abandon hope,

all ye who tread here,

upon the path not taken.

Lindsey,

"Upon the path not taken" ... Indeed, we have gotten lost somewhere, our echos of past regrets and present failures only encourage us to fortify and go fourth.

With discearnment found your direction, maybe the path was not clearly marked...? Maybe our actions just haphazardly led us here? Either way, understanding is the key to unlock the door of change.

This was a well penned example of poetry.

I appreciate you sharing it with me.

Have a great day,

Legacy

Have you thought to maybe place this in the contest of Poetic Infusion Society - Enlightenment? Possibly Dark Secrets?
