A Poem by Caitlin

a stranger beckons
you deny her call
she draws you forth with loving eyes;
a commonality--a shared pain
something we have overcome.

remembrance is a powerful thing
as is sobriety,
a tool which we
should all search for and
try to keep.

forget the pain,
the sorrow and the blood
and rejoice in the moon
and the stars.

Author's Note

Caitlin
i met a random woman at the fair today and she called me over to her booth. she started telling me that she used to cut and that she knew what it was like and that i wasn't alone. i had no idea who this twenty year old woman was, but i connected to her. she understood, even though she was a complete stranger, and that's all that matters.

This was very moving. Before your author’s note I took the journey on the trip of life and how we all have to overcome the world while creating a personal history of pain and hope. And i feel we can continue to search for joy in the moon and stars. Thank you for both journeys. You were meant to meet this woman at the fair.
