The Angel

The Angel

A Poem by Caitlin

an angel, broken and battered
wings, torn and tattered.
skin, sliced and scarlet
heart, cold and dark.
life, fading away
nothing, wisps of grey.
eyes, moist and damp
tears, falling and frantic.
love, never was
fears, full of blood.
sight, fading 'way
feeling, can never say.
ground, cold as ice
night, darkness would suffice.
alone, shallow breaths be taken
pain, gripping and shaken.
loss, twisted and forlorn
memories, tattered and frayed.
the angel,
she lay there, broken and battered
her life now gone,
all but shattered.
