GOD AND I

GOD AND I

A Poem by Sylvia Chika

I WILL SIT AND WAIT

COS I KNOW YOU ARE NEVER LATE

YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL

OH! MY HEART IS FULL

FULL OF YOUR LOVE

FILLED WITH PEACE

OH! SUCH BLISS!

I’M SURE YOU LOVE ME

I’M SURE YOU WANT ME

JUST AS I AM

OH, HOW I LOVE THEE!

JUST LOOK AT ME

FROM A GIRL WITH SO MANY WORRIES

TOO MANYI CARRIED THEM IN LORRIES

THE GIRL I WAS BEFORE

I SEE NO MORE

IM COMPLETELY LOST IN YOUR LOVE

I’M NOT GOING BACK!

LET THEM BARK!

IM FINE JUST WHERE I AM NOW

YOU’VE GIVE ME A CROWN

I’MIM NOW A PRINCESS!

ROYALTY I AMSO PRICELESS!

I DONT RECOGNIZE ME ANYMORE

I SEE YOU IN ME WHEN I LOOK IN THE MIRROR

OH! SWEET SWEET LOVE!

JUST LOOK AT ME!

OH, MY!

I’M IN A LOVE-RELATIONSHIP

I’M IN A REAL RELATIONSHIP!

I’M NEVER LETTING GO!

OH YES!

YOU PROMISED TO NEVER LEAVE ME

HERE I AM!

A PUPPET I AM IN YOUR HANDS

YOU HAVE THE STRINGS IN YOUR HANDS

PULL THEM AND I’LL DANCE IN YOUR PRESENCE

A SWEET OFFERING LAVISHED WITH INCENSE

IM ALL YOURS

CALL MY NAME AND ILL YIELD

I’LL JOIN THE WORKERS IN THE FIELD

ILL WORK THE FIELD

ILL DO ANYTHING FOR YOU

ONLY FOR YOU

CALL MY NAME AND I’LL YIELD

CALL MY NAME, OH LORD!

IM YOURS

THIS IS MY LOVE SONG TO YOU

I CALL IT, “GOD AND I”
