ANGEL UNEMPLOYED

ANGEL UNEMPLOYED

A Poem by Sylvia Chika

He sat on the floor

He was tired of the struggle

The toiling

The hustle

He needed a change

But did nothing but sulk

This had gone on for so long

He felt so alone

Unwilling to tell

Unwilling to ask

He just sat there feeling discouraged

His angel sat there with him

Unemployed and fat

He was waiting

Waiting for his own to make a move

Speak the Word

Give him a task

But he got none

So he just sat there with him

Chewing on muffins

Humming a hymn

Indeed, angels do like muffins, though they respond better to prayers.....:)

You may have thought that this was a "creative" write but my house is full of angel footprints......beings who cannot wait for my passivity to cease......

Great writing!
