Risk that is worthierA Story by M A SyeedWhen we suddenly feel different after waking up one morning, we look for reasons and try to relate. In most case we do find it, if it is not a direct one, at least a close one. In these situations, it is similar to the great theory of relativity-“Time is relative to the observer!!” " What I mean to say is even if it is not the reason; we perceive that it is the reason; therefore an abstract cause is kind of relative to the observer. Consequently we start making mistakes and leading to different problems. We more or less run into problems with people and we get angry and say a lot of things, or we might get satisfied and make a commitment without understanding the situation. This happens a lot, and when we come to our senses we find no way to repent for it. We try to avoid things by trying to become funny, humble or sometimes lying or being truthful. In that case we again fail to understand the other person’s situation. Seeing us they might agree with us at the current situation but still can crumble inside him /her. How much do we care about others? I think in most cases every person is a one man show, I would not call it selfishness but it is there that we always try to thrive things in our way - that is what human beings are. To some extent exceptions are always present. In our little life everyone messes up, from person to person the intensity varies. Now try placing yourself is the other person’s shoes, how would you feel if someone breaks a commitment? It is quite obvious that you would be disheartened, sad, angry and so on and so forth. And we start opening the library of history, where we haven’t or you haven’t broken any promises and then try to compare ourselves as a better contributor. We most of the time ignore our failures. We may even go and make plans to punish the other person for not keeping the promise. Truly humans are unpredictable, when we start forgetting and reset everything. From my opinion, I think selfishness is necessary to some extent; else we will never be who we are. And it is important that we know our identity, Who we are? What are our barriers and limitations? What we like and what we don’t? But selfishness has to be blended properly to make sure that we do not reach the extreme ends. Because selfishness is part of human character. I sometimes get a feeling that we lie to ourselves which is a big crime. This prevents us from becoming ourselves. Every other time we sit back and think, we say to ourselves how things are going to be fine even though we know it isn’t. We see dreams and teach us how they are going to be so true, when we know that we don’t even know if we are going to be alive the next day. We do so many crimes every day and say to ourselves that it is harmless, so on and so forth. But do we even try to understand what might be the consequences of a very tiny crime that I committed (tiny from my perspective)? Life for a person never reaches perfection but that is what a perfect life is. So, in our perfect little life, we try to do things right, sometimes so hard that we mess it up bad. We better always stop, wait before we make a stupid decision, a good decision that is late, is still a good decision!! That is why; we should sometimes let people go alone in their pursuit. If we try to be redundantly helpful it might backfire. The other person is also a human and has the brain to understand. Therefore we should them and ourselves think and understand independently. Still--”Situation can still be relative to the observer” but again it’s a risk that is worthier. © 2011 M A Syeed |
