Gravitational Pull

Gravitational Pull

A Poem by Sydney Rachel
"

"' Dark matter has a gravitational effect on other objects. You can't see it, you can't feel it, but you can watch something being pulled in its direction.'" -- My Sister's Keeper

"

Living in

Fear,

Neither here

Nor there.

Afraid to stay,

Afraid to leave,

Afraid of what

May happen

Next.

In the blink

Of an eye,

All you know is

Gone,

Pulled away

By some dark

Thing

To which

You cannot give

A name.

It reaches

Towards you,

Pulling you

In.

You cannot see it,

But it is

There.

You know it

Exists

If only

Because it has

Taken

Everything

You hold close.

Black hole.

Dark matter.

Cancer.

Call it

What you may,

But its gravity

Will always win.

Never fail

To pull you

In.

Beautiful! I haven't seen My Sister's Keeper yet, but I want to. It looks like a good, although very sad, movie. Great poem. :)
