That Was Yesterday

 

She lies in the grass, looking up at the sky

Thinking of how time went by.

Lying there in the month of June

She lies there, looking up at the moon.

 

One day, and one night

She remembers everything she used to fight.

One minute, and one hour

She remembers how she had no power.

 

She felt like she was out of breath

She felt like the closet thing to her was death.

But with everything that had messed with her mind

She knew that she had to leave it all behind.

 

Because today is just a new start

She is way stronger in the heart.

She has moved on to a new chapter,

Now she can share with all her laughter.

                 

She sits up, and says goodbye

Stands up and starts to cry

Pleased about the new beginning she is taking

No more giving up, and heart breaking.
