Matt was ordering his usual order of coffee, iced coffee with extra cream, when he heard the ring of the bell, signaling the coffee shop door was opened. He knew who it was without having to look. It was Chris Luger, his old high school bestfriend, who he’d been in touch with for months, and hit true love. He asked him if he wanted to come catch up at the local coffee shop, and, surprisingly, Chris agreed. Matt said he just wanted to catch up, but he wanted to see Chris in person so badly, the thought was consuming his mind and he couldn’t think of anything else since they started talking talking. As soon as he got his coffee, he turned around and saw this charming, handsome, young, muscular man with the face of someone who could make millions from being an actor. He was that good looking. Matt was overwhelmed by how handsome he was. Matt found a table and Chris sat with him. “Feel free to go order some coffee or something,” Matt told him. “Maybe I will,” Chris answered, with a little bit of joy in his tone. As soon as Chris got up to order, Matt instantly knew he was perfect for him. But one thing crossed his mind that hadn’t before-what if he’s not gay? Matt would be crushed. More than crushed. He wouldn’t know how to go on anymore. But Matt always thought Chris seemed interested in gime. He was probably just imagining things, or trying to assume things that were completely crazy. “I’m back, I know you missed me,” Chris said, as he sat down with his steaming cup of coffee. “What’d you get?,” asked Matt. “Me? Oh, just a cup of iced coffee with extra cream,” he said. “Hey! We got the same thing,” Matt said, and they both chuckled a little. Matt felt so happy in that moment, seeing Chris smile and laugh. It made him feel like he was on top of the world. And to him, that was the best feeling ever. “So, what do you want to talk about on this lovely morning?,” asked Matt. “Hm? How about how pretty the snow is on the ground,” Chris replied. “It glistens and sparkles as you walk, and it’s the most beautiful shade of white, and it’s so fluffy! It’s like the clouds in the sky are on the ground, and it’s just the most beautiful thing ever,” Chris followed up with. Matt was fascinated at the words he used and how perfectly he described the snow. It was like he could feel the words washing over him, and it made him so delighted. “That was honestly the best way I’ve ever heard snow described,” Matt told him. “Well, I’m studying to be an author, so that’s kinda what I’ve got to do, ya know?,” Chris said. “Hey, I’ve got to text my sister real quick,” Matt said. Chris also decided to go on his phone. Matt texted his sister “OMG he’s the most amazing human ever and he described the snow the best way possible, plus he’s like gorgeous. But I know he isn’t gay, so thy sucks.” Chris suddenly seemed interested in his phone, but Matt didn’t seem to notice. “Who?,” his sister replied back. “Remember I told you I was going out with Chris. Well, more like catching up, but same thing lol.” “Look who you’re texting,” the person responded, and Matt instantly realized his mistake. He texted cChris, not his sister. He instantly stood up, “I’m sorry, I think I should go,” Matt said, and tried to hurry out. As soon as he was 3 feet from the door, he felt a hand on his back. He turned around, only to find Chris right behind him. “Matt,” Chris said. Matt looked down in embarrassment. “Look at me,” Chris said, sounding sad. Matt looked up into his gorgeous blue-grey eyes. “I’ve loved you since high school, sophomore year. I’ve always loved you. I fell more in love with you when I saw you today, and I love you more than you’ll ever understand.” Chris kissed Matt softly on the lips, and then, in that moment, in that coffee shop, two friends were reunited as lovers.
