Ménage à triosA Poem by Ms. AckermanDeath and Sleep © Hannah Ackerman 11/6/2011I would rather have Death than Nightmares. I would rather go to sleep cuddling Death around me like a blanket than face those Nightmares over and over again. Death you are still my friend still my comforter still there for me. We have long talks comforting and kind. The Nightmares chill and terrify me. Death and the Horseman chase Them away they stand guard at my side like good soldiers. The Horseman and his hounds circle and keep me safe, warm, and calm till the shift change when Death comes and whispers sweet Nothings to calm me even farther. Death stalks my enemies like a predator does its prey. Death we will truly embrace someday but for now you watch and let the Horseman be my lover biding your time will we all will come together as a Ménage à trios. © 2013 Ms. Ackerman |
