Reflection and ghost 2

Another take on a previous poem

"Well you've been an exceptional host."
said my ghost as he made a toast
"And though I'm not one known to boast,
I've got a better gig on the coast."

"Don't leave me here!" my reflection wailed
"If you bail, my fun's curtailed!
I can't stay here and watch him flail
It will be too much like being in jail"

Apparently, I had no say
in the middle of the day, they walked away
and everything just turned to grey

under my breath I said "hooray"

and that's my brainfart for today

I love this! Being an obsessive rhymer myself, I always enjoy some hardcore rhyming that does not quite push it over the limit becuz your writing also makes sense! (some rhymers get drunk on rhymes & forget to make sense) Really enjoy your uninhibited rhyming selections that carry your whimsical ideas forward in a storytelling way. I also admire when dialogue is used effectively, as you've done (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
