The Salish Gypsy

The Salish Gypsy

A Poem by Misterr Remeat
"

Sigh...If I only had a boat

"

A wave crashes, a gull cries

its open soul to open skies

careening off on a salty breeze

flying on, its call a tease

The sun it warms, and brings the wind

Fills my sails as it cools my skin

Spin the wheel in anticipation

Finding unknown destinations

Dolphins playing upon my bow

Locks me in the here and now

Nothing matters but the sea

And a windy voice that's calling me

Seeing now just open ocean

The lands ahead are but a notion

Wind in hair, hands on the wheel

It's all I feel, it feels so real

Judge the seas with just one look

I can read the wind like an open book

This is my life, a life unplanned

on this ship of mine, this ship so grand.

The Salish Gypsy is her name

The Salish Sea is the one she'll tame

A steady hand to take the helm

A sturdy ship to sail this realm

I love this poem. It took me out to sea & I felt all the freedoms & wildness of this life. I felt the proudness of this gypsy, loving everything about the life. I love your rhyme & rhythm & enjambment. This makes me love the sea-faring life too! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

You really have a knack for great rhythm and musicality, and this one in particular is enriched further with the grand imagery! Well done!

Oooh I really like this one. Makes me feel like I'm a pirate out on a new adventure with the salty wind whipping my hair about. Love the imagery you've created!
