The Regular

A Poem by Misterr Remeat
"

Too many years hangin' around bars......

"
She dances around tables, holding a tray
acting out fables, in her private ballet
lights up the room with a smile and a wink
pick up the empties and drop off a drink

I could watch her for hours, and usually do
watch her so long that I start to see two
Double the pleasure, double the fun
Wish I could be her number one

Don't get me wrong, I hold no illusions
I don't bother her life with any intrusions
Just light hearted talk, a pun or a joke
No interest I show, I'm old and I'm broke

For many years now, I've been shining this seat
through winters dark cold and summers bright heat
A body thats old, and feeling the pain
but looking at her, I feel young again

I'm now out of coin, I need to go home
put pen to a paper and finish this poem
And if I can find a few dollars to borrow
I'll be back here again shining this seat bright tomorrow
