Wisdom

Wisdom

A Poem by Misterr Remeat
"

A wiseass guide to life

"

They say wisdom's attained
by the knowledge you gain
I say more by the things that you've lost

Finding truths full of lies
that your friends wear disguises
It's your innocent eyes that it costs

There are so many things
that will burn you and sting
things that will cause you such pain

you'll say every day
that you've pushed them away
But you always touch them again

some people will hurt you
loved ones will desert you
those in who trust has been placed

But holding a grudge and
standing in judgment
You'll find is just such a waste

you'll always be haunted
by the roads that you wanted
not the ones you actually walked

but the grass isn't greener
The bull might be meaner
And those roads, they sometimes get blocked

I've travelled these places
i've been put through the paces
Walking proudly but sometimes i'd crawl

The thing I surmise
now that i'm "old and wise"
is that I really know nothing at all

so rejoice in the travel
let your worries unravel
let your heart beat set up your pace

the truth of it is
to truly find wisdom
it's ignorance you have to embrace

This is brilliant life pondering wrapped in the punch of well-crafted words. I'm too stunned to do my usual blathering, since you've just about said it all anyway! This is awesome. It's exactly how life is & you make it feel totally ok & even honorable to have a string of BS at our heels (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

I totally agree with the message of this poem. It is ignorance one must embrace. And I like the rhyme sequence. It just feels to me that this piece has not been granted the the time or scrutiny it deserves. I think that with more attention and it could really shine! I.I.

i love this man. I've got some similar ideas in a poem I'm working on, I haven't posted it yet.
Ignorance truly is bliss.
