ProlougeA Chapter by Abbigail R. Snyder She stood there, not aware of what to do, unable to move. She opened her dry, chapped lips to attempt to let out a scream. But this time, she didn't hear her usual medium pitched loud voice, there was only silence. Fear rolled across her motionless face, copying the motion of a wave after it had crashed against the shore. Only her eyes were able to move, the rest of her was stock-still, powerless in a frozen position. Glancing around the gym, she saw her teammates and coach sprint towards her. Suddenly all she could see were bright splashes of colors that spotted her vision, leaving her unable to view her surroundings. The noise around her disappeared. The noise around her then turned to the soothing sound of a conch shell at the beach. She then felt herself start to dive towards the floor; her body let go, and the imaginary rope that was holding her captive tighten. She kept falling, and this time, she wasn't able to catch herself. But then it all stopped; she felt her brain stop working, her limbs relax, and her eyes roll, making her see the black, chilling light she feared. © 2016 Abbigail R. Snyder |
