Perceptions

Perceptions

A Poem by Jacqueline B Swezey

Oh how everyone was wrong

In the perception of things

How the mirror thwarted

It flashed and moved

The black deep

Nothing moves

The crescendo of life

Beats loudly as

Memories shred

Hanging

Limp and unfocused

Where the birds fly

Tears fall

How the left leave

How the right write

Letters burn

But I stare at you.
