My Little Loved Ones

I have hugged, kissed,
and tucked into bed
the ones that you have given to me.
I have expressed my love to them
and bid them a good nights sleep.
You are our protection through the night.
All that we have
and all that we are
rests in your watch care.
You become my eyes
and my ears
as I drift off to dreamland.
You are my only hope.
You watch over
