The Wall

The Wall

A Poem by sweetvalorie

Dealing with issues that have been accumulating.

"
The wall. It's been built one brick at a time.
One painstakingly horrible brick at a time.
Each one being heavy laden with hurt.
Each one being tossed at me to add to the wall, bruising me with each toss.
It's a wall like no other.
A wall that has crushed my very being.
My soul lies beneath it, crushed.
My heart, shattered.
The blood of my broken heart flows out from the weight of the wall.
Oh how my body moans and cries out for someone to help. And no, it doesn't cry out for you, please, please, please, anyone but you.
The mortar between each brick is indestructible, slathered on by the lies that flow from your lips.
I am not deceived.
I believe nothing of it.
You have lied your way through life and you lie to my face. Keep slathering on the mortar, as each brick needs to be held in place.
You have built a mighty wall.
A wall that no one else has even come close to building.
I feel trapped beneath it.
I feel desperate.
I want out.
