Overthinking

Overthinking

A Poem by Jennifer Smalls
"

I'd like to rename this... I can't think of a title that fits. Suggestions welcome! :-)

"
The words I say to you.
Are they coming from my mouth,
Because my heart is overfull?
Or are they a product of my brain,
And the girl I think you'd like?

Your eyes sparkle, seeming self - assured.
Yet I wonder if you're questioning yourself...
The way I question me?
So unsure, needy, naive.
You smile, my heart flies.

But is it flying to you...
Or the person you think I'd like?
Are you faking it for me...
Or the girl I think you'd like?

Does the sun rise for day...
Or is it meant to rise for night?
