Chapter three- Drake

Chapter three- Drake

A Chapter by sweetsunshine42

Drake, who was apparently the guy in Jaden’s seat stood up and made his way towards the front. While he walked there, I stared at him. Drake had a strong muscular frame and his skin looked tan. He had dark brown hair that always mistaken for black. He also had a mischievous smirk plastered on his face. Altogether he was good-looking, very good- looking.

“Hey, I’m Drake Jones.” He said, stuffing both hands into his jeans casually.

First thing I noticed from Drake when he faced the front was his piercing pale blue green eyes, they stood out.

Mr. Smiths stared at him. “Alright, what else?” He asked trying to keep the annoyance out of his voice.

Drake shrugged. “Ok, I’m from Canada, and recently moved down here to California.”

I stared at Drake, he was kind of different from other new guys who came here, well he sounded different, but I seriously doubt he’ll be much different. Mr. Smiths nodded. “Alright, please have a seat.”

Drake sauntered towards his seat, on the way there; he caught my eye and gave me a wink. I smiled uneasily and looked away.  “Miss Saunders.” Mr. Smiths called.

I looked up. “Yeah?” I responded.

“You are to assign to assist Drake for the day. Take him to classes, and show him around the school.”

"Why me?

"No reason, but I do need someone to help Drake around."

I sighed, “Ok, sure.” I replied.

“Alright, then class today we are going to learn the human body.”

Bio class dragged on, passing really slowly with Drake always staring at me when I answered a correct question. I tried not to make too much eye contact with him, but he keeps on staring, it’s hard not to look. Finally I gave up, during the last five minutes of class; I stood up and marched towards him. “What do you want?” I demanded.  Drake quickly scanned my body, like he was checking me out. I noticed and crossed my arms across my chest.

Drake smiled at me slyly. “Nothing, I didn’t ask for anything.” He flashed me a cocky grin.

 I ignored it.

“Yeah, so what’s with the staring huh?”

He smirked. “Isn’t there freedom to do whatever you want here?” He grinned. If it wasn’t Drake who said that, I would’ve laughed.

But instead I rolled my eyes. “Haha, you’re a riot.” I said snidely.

He gave me a lazy grin. “I know.” He mocked. “Besides, what’s your name gorgeous?”

I gave him a small smile. “Roxy.” I blurted out before I could stop myself.

Drake looked amused. “Roxy huh? That’s a hot name.” He mused. “I can’t wait for your company later.”

I rolled my eyes, “You know what, I think you should ask someone else to be your ‘guide’ later.” I turned away and started off, but then Drake grabbed my wrist, spinning me around. I sighed. “What now?” I stared at him hard.

He flashed me another one of his lazy grins. “But you have to be my ‘guide’; I mean Uncle Smiths did ask you to do it.” He pointed out.

I raised my eyebrows at his nickname for our teacher and pried his fingers off my wrist. “So, who cares if he asked me to do it? What are you going to do about that?” I placed my hands on my hips challengingly.

Drake chuckled. “Feisty, I like it.” He gave me a blinding grin.

I scowled at him. “Whatever, I’m still not doing it.” I crossed my arms and looked away.

He chuckled again. “Uh huh, sure.” He said amused.

“Take a picture next time, it lasts longer.” And with that I moved away from his desk before making my way towards mine.

There at my seat, Jaden acknowledged me. “Hey Roxy, what’s up with you and Drake?” He asked curiously.

I shrugged. “I don’t know, but I think he’s crushing on me or something.” I muttered.

A shadow crossed his face, I saw a flash of jealously, but it passed so quickly I could’ve thought that I made it up.  “Oh really? I bet you’ve just got yourself a stalker.” He smiled, but I could tell it was forced.

I rolled my eyes, “Won’t you just die to have a stalker?” I said sarcastically.

That made Jaden laugh, “Ha, it’s ok. He’ll go away once he’s bored. You’re not his type anyways; I bet he’s into cheerleaders more.” He smiled at me. I smiled back at him. Jaden and I had been friends since forever. We always did things together, and we always shared secrets, not filling him in on my recent one made me feel a bit guilty.

“Come on, let’s get ready for next class.” Jaden said, glancing at me briefly before gathering his stuff in his arms.
