From the silence of the night a baa calls
Listen close and hear Mother sheep calling lambs near Another baa follows as Lambs answer and search to find Mother's udder warm and full White warm liquid they drink their fill From the silence a bird draws near Singing loudly Whippoorwill, whip'0'wil Off in the distance a answering call Whippoorwill, whip'o'wil From night's silence Croakers creep Splatter and splash in the creek Deep within the night The wind whistles Tree tops blow Trunks creak and bend low Brightness flashes in the darkness Nature's light show Under the flickering light Animals move in nervous delight Thunder shudders their peaceful quiet From flashes of light And thunder so deep A new soft call my ears do greet Voice soft and tender A new world to meet Eager eyes gaze all around Searching for this wondrous new sound Until a flash her presence reveals Dark as nightfall under the moon White crescent new ears conceal Showing her presence As she drinks her first meal Eyes young and old Take in the sight Quiet excitement abounds As new arrival they surround Each touching and greeting This new one just born On into the night until the next morn The sun rises and weak rays adorn Coat black as coal shine in the light White crescent moon over the night Born during the nightly storm To the ewe with the beautiful horns © 2012 Norma M SuttonAuthor's Note
