A Single Rose
A Poem by

For the Valentine's Day Contest
A single rose Your gift to me Not from the five and dime A single rose Pale pink in bloom Dark buds around it shine A single rose Soon will die Buds scented like floral wine A single rose Your gift to me Sweaty sticky hands touch mine A single rose Plucked full in bloom Pressed in the book of time A single rose Your gift to me On peanut butter we dined A single rose More beautiful then all the rest Because you made it mine A single rose A bud I took Into soil I primed A single rose Now grows strong It stands the test of time A single rose Climbing jungle love by my kitchen door Forever my heart binds

I love how your words have simplicity but provoke experiences we can all relate too!
