AtoneA Chapter by Norma M SuttonFrom the depths my dreams
In sadness I lay my head
On the pillow of my bed Hearing the mournful whispers of the wind Missing my dearest friend Fitfully I toss and turn As inward emotions churn Keeping me away from sleep Peaceful dreams do I seek Finally the night is won All tossing finally done Dreaming and all alone For my sins I do atone Until I wake from a long wet kiss Reminding me of what I miss Heartfelt hugs And gentle tugs Into the darkness I gaze Wishing to regain peaceful haze Until at last I rise With long and saddened sighs © 2011 Norma M SuttonAuthor's Note
