Each morning I rise And walk towards the sun Shining on my small flock
Each greets me with a voice unique Seeking my presence as I seek theirs Atlas stands his paws around my neck Kissing my cheek with his tongue
Cats follow and mew Until I stop and give them a pet Rabbits all hop to the hutch door Wiskers twitching and curious
These are my morning joys Followed by my daily chores Then to work I travel Were I sew and sew
Not really a burden Although sometimes real slow Then home in the evenings With chores under setting sun
More animal calls and kisses As I make a hay run Inside I sit at my wheel spinning As I dream and contemplate
Life's many wonders and joys Terrors and sorrows Ups and downs Until I have to get up and jot it all down
Finally before bedfall I sit knitting and quiet Until at last my mind is now still Then as my head touches pillow and my eyes shut so tight Dreams fill my head and warm the cold night
Think about what you love and write about something that reflects you favorite things

reminds me of a line from a poem by a famous poet I once read (I am ashamed to say I do not remember the name of the poem and the poet .)
It goes something like :
.....ultimately glad to find , the pleasure in little things...
This is very nice. I love a poet who has an eye for the simple, yet wonderful things in life. You have this vision and you are able to convey it in a most easy and comfortable style.
(spelling) "burden"... I enjoyed this write very much...it reflects that happiness does not come from having all that one desires but from being thankful and appreciative for everything one has. There is certainly much joy to be had from the company of animals and providing for their care. It sounds like a day well spent to me. ;o)
