Noah's Wife

Noah's Wife

A Chapter by Norma M Sutton
"

as suggested by Amber Dextrous in her review of Sissy

"
Two by two they came
Noah's ark was built and done
The loading begun

In their compartments
They were housed, fed morn and night
Noah's work was done

But mine has just begun

Each morning I rise
Listen to the high wind's sighs
Water slap ships sides

Animals need food
Goats to milk, eggs to gather
In this gloomy tomb

Then food for my brood
Our quarters I straighten
Tons of poop to pick

Elephant, bear, lion
Ostridge, raven, loon and dove
Cattle, a*s and sheep

Days work never done
Forty days and nights we roll
Toiling on and on

Wonder sometimes IF
Drowning be a better fate
Then living like this

My nose wants to die
Shut in with the animals
Might be a okay

Noah's flatulence
Belching forty days
Of unwashed BO

Why did I listen
And come along for the ride
Dove bring good news SOON

Author's Note

Norma M Sutton
Ms. Zookeeper. Maybe you should do something with that prompt too. :P

I have a dozen sheep and goats and about that many rabbits. They are about all I can manage to keep up. I can't imagine how long and horrendous this ride must have been for Ms Noah.

Love it! Now here is an unsung tale of optimism, hope and strength. What women go through to support their men's seemingly pipe dreams! :)

Would be a difficult task to take care of a boat load of animals. I like how you wrote the story. Some realism in the words. A excellent poem. Thank you.

Yup,the rain can be a pain. lol Poor old Noah's wife...she doesn't even get remembered...now Lot's wife gets remembered!~ a shame you have to turn into a pillar of salt just to rate some attention from history! lol Cool and humorous write.

Ha ha. I loved this. No one ever thinks to step into the shoes of someone living on the arch, much less the much-looked-over wife of Noah. Brilliant.

A different twist on a familiar tale. I liked it.

No doubt, but with all of that water maybe that could find a way for a ruba-dub-dub. Ha! I can't imagine the foul odors that were aboard that ship! Wonderful write!
