Childhood

Childhood

A Chapter by Norma M Sutton
"

"
Through the convoluted corners of my mind
A dusty room awaits

Tucked away at the top of a long staircase
Lit in dim light lies this small room

A room of memories
Memories remain of childish dreams

As I pass through the long corridors of time
I pass flights of fantasy

Winged horse with horns
Cowboy boots and hats
A children's riding sanctuary

Woods and fields never ending
Games of hide and seek

Until I reach that dusty room
She has waited so long you see

For me to remember
All she wants is a chance to play

The games of you and me
Forgotten with the passing time

Asking only . . .
To be released

Amazing description and story in your words. I like the feel and emotion in the poem. When we wander back in time. We wished to have done more sometimes.
"For me to remember
