The QuietA Poem by Norma M Sutton
Peace and quiet is what I seek
Followed by a long hard sleep But when all is said and done In the quiet I become More and less then all my parts Listening to my beating heart Hearing the distant hum Striking me both death and dumb But in quiet I do find Peace and comfort in kind For as the world recedes Primoral warnings I heed Dark into the starless night I stare and stare without fright Listening to sounds unsung Less desprate I've become In bright sunlite day Into the quiet world I stay Seeing beauty seldom known This forever be my home © 2010 Norma M Sutton |
