For MatthewA Chapter by Norma M Sutton
He came to me in dreams
Broken in body and mind Regreting not his decision Only his stay was kind He came to me in dreams Longing for his home Searching for his sanity Waiting for mending bones He came to me in dreams When his were nightmares alone Seeking peace and solitude In a place far from home He came to me in dreams And walked my life awhile Showed me distant golden plains And bluest of blue skies He came to me in dreams When my own too were shattered Touched me with his gentle smile Told me that I mattered He came to me in dreams Longing for the sun Set me on a lonely quest Looking for someone He came to me in dreams Then as simply he went Marching straight and lonely He was heaven sent He came to me in dreams And though he'll never know He touched my broken heart It melted like his snow He came to me in dreams His voice I can still hear For despite his pain and fear He dried my grieving tears He came to me in dreams And when he had to go I prayed for his safety And closed my eyes in woe For though . . . It was only in my dreams That I knew him so well A part of me is with him In that heated hell. © 2010 Norma M SuttonReviews
